How did Tito get from the beaches of Mexico to the mountains of Colorado? A little hope and a lot of love…
IF YOU’RE JUST JOINING US…
In case you are just joining us in Tito’s Tall Tales, and were wondering how it all started, here is a brief summary of our continuing story. First, I encourage you to read the entries from the beginning so you can get to know Tito and how he felt about the situation, as well as get my perspective on how everything progressed from the start of it all. But if time is not on your side, I am providing you with a “CliffsNotes” version of the beginning of our adventure!
It was on a spontaneous trip to Mexico that I adopted a stray beach dog, who I later named, Tito. He was malnourished, needed help, and was by far the cutest dog I had ever seen. He would not leave my side that unforgettable day on the beach, and as crazy as it sounds, I just felt like it was fate and I was chosen to save this dog. And it worked out that he also saved me in more ways than I could’ve dreamed of.
I took him to the vet in Mexico, got his paperwork and shots, and was off to the U.S. With some flight changes, layovers, and a lot of extra money, he was in his new home. But it was not without complications, of course. Tito had many health problems that we had to work through over a period of time, but now he is now the happiest and most loving dog I could have ever asked for.
The blog entries are diary entries from Tito’s personal view as a rescue dog. As we continue to chase adventures all over the world, as well as in our daily life in Colorado, the entries will just continue to add to his amazing story. You will also see my view of this ever-changing journey in my journal entries that are also posted in parallel with his, called “Mommy’s Memoirs.” There is nothing like the bond between a dog and his owner. Pure love and joy is what I found with my decision that day to take home not just a dog, but a best friend.
Enjoy. Salud.
